Spelling Preferences

Spell Check Preferences

These options determine how the spelling checker operates. Currently, spell checking is only available for the Note Plugin. The fields above are described in the table below:

PREFERENCE

DESCRIPTION

Ignore Words That Are

This group marks the word types that will not be included in spell checking. Each checked word type will not be checked for spelling errors.

Suggest Corrections That

Finding alternative words that might be a proper fit for a misspelled word can be a time consuming process, depending on the speed of your machine. This group can specify what types of replacement word suggestions the spell checker will make.

Report These Special Errors

Certain special word sequences can be detected by the spell checker. Check the situations you want the spell checker to warn you about.

Other Options

Additional spell checker features that you may selectively enable, listed individually below.

Consider case differences as different words

Check this if you want capitalized versions of words to be treated as different words as their uncapitalized counterpart. For example, you might want “Arizona” to be a valid word, but not “arizona”. Therefore two separate entries might exist even though the same sequence of letters is used.

Treat hyphenated words as two words

This option will instruct the spell checker to verify each part of a hyphenated word.

Strip possessive form before checking spelling

This option will remove the “‘s” in words before checking the spelling.
