The first time you run NoteMagician, you will be presented with one or more dialogs asking you to enter some basic information and/or preferences for your installation. This help topic will present the screens and explain what information is being requested.
Selecting Your Database Location
The first wizard screen will ask you where on your system you would NoteMagician to keep your data files with the following screen:

Your choices for the database location presented on this screen are:

Application Data |
Standard folder used by most applications to contain data to be available to a single user, no matter what PC the user is logged onto. Sometimes called the users ‘roaming’ data. This folder is NoteMagician’s default location for data. |
My Documents |
My Documents is Windows’ default location where application created documents are placed. Choose this path if you want it to be easy to locate NoteMagician data files. |
Sub-folder of AppData |
Choosing this option will allow you to create a special sub-folder named “Data” under the folder Windows uses as a default location for application specific data files. |
Application Folder |
Path in which the NoteMagician application was installed. |
Custom Location |
This option allows you to choose any folder to be the root of all local NoteMagician data. Enter your desired target folder by typing in the folder’s path, or press the Browse button to search your system for the desired folder. |
