How do I Delete an existing Item?
With the item you wish to delete highlighted in the List Pane or the item currently displayed in the Item Pane when the cursor is within the Item Pane, do one of the following:
- Click the
icon on the Toolbar
- Choose Edit > Delete from the main menu
- Choose Delete from the right-click context menu
- Press the <Ctrl> + <Del> key combination on the keyboard.
NOTE: If you have checked the “Ask before deleting items to Deleted Items folder” checkbox in the General section under View > Preferences…, NoteMagician will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the item.
Right after you delete an item, NoteMagician will display the contents of the item originally following it, if one exists. However, if you delete the last item in the List Pane, NoteMagician will display the item originally before the deleted item unless there are no more items, in which case you will see a message telling you how to create an item.
Items that are deleted are actually moved into the Deleted Items folder. Once there, the items may be permanently deleted by deleting them from this folder, or undeleted by choosing Edit > Undelete main menu option or selecting Undelete from the right-click pop-up menu when the item(s) to undelete are selected.
